E-Z Lock Threaded Insert For Metal

E-Z Lock Solid Thread Inserts are used primarily in applications where the threads in a tapped hole are damaged. The existing threads are completely removed by drillling to the specified diameter, and the hole is then tapped to match the threads on the OD of the insert. Solid metal inserts are self-locking and will not vibrate loose or back out. They can be installed with standard tools, such as a screwdriver or drive tool. Immediately upon installation, pre-applied Loctite on the external threads begins to set and the newly installed insert is fastener-ready in minutes. At full cure (72 hours), the Loctite seals against liquids and gases to pressures of 6,000 psi. To remove the insert, it can be heated above 300°F (149°C), which will cause the adhesive to release, or a bolt extractor can be used to remove the insert without it being drilled out. These inserts are available in both imperial and metric, as well as imperial thin wall.
